There are two car parks available at Gunnersbury.

The museum car park can be accessed through the ornate gates on Popes Lane and follow the signs.
Visitors can pay via the RingGo App or via credit/ debit card at the machines. Please note charges apply at all times, including bank holidays.

Please note we hire parts or all of the museum for private events. This means they can sometimes be closed to other visitors. Check our News & Blog for any confirmed upcoming dates.
On some occasions we will not be able to open parts of the museum due to lack of room stewards. Help keep our galleries open by becoming a volunteer today!
If you are making a special trip, please call us on 020 3961 0280 or email info@visitgunnersbury.org to check our opening arrangements.
We want to make it easy for everyone to enjoy visiting Gunnersbury. If you would like more information about accessibility or the facilities, please contact us.
Designated disabled parking for the park can be found in the visitor carpark and in the carpark next to the museum.
The museum, visitor reception and shop are accessed by a short ramp. Inside, a self-operated lift serves all the galleries and is suitable for wheelchairs, including small motorised ones. Please let a member of the team know if you need any assistance. We have a manual wheelchair available to borrow and there is seating in each gallery.
In the unlikely event of an emergency evacuation, any visitors using wheelchairs or who are mobility impaired will be assisted to safety by a member of staff or a volunteer. The lift will not be available for use in the event of a fire.
Please note we do not allow dogs into the museum, with the exception of Assistance Dogs. Unfortunately we do not allow Therapy animals into the museum.
There is a network of tarmac paths within the park at Gunnersbury. However, because the park is a natural environment, paths may be uneven in places. There is ramped access at both ends of the mansion terrace, which has a thin, compacted gravel surface. Seats are positioned along the paths, especially those surrounding the lawns in front of the mansions.
There is an accessible toilet in the museum. There is also an accessible toilet in the park toilet block, which is located near the museum.
The museum tells Gunnersbury’s stories through a mixture of objects, written information, film and audio. Films with spoken words are subtitled. Our gallery guides will be happy to talk about the exhibition and indicate objects that can be handled. There is a hearing loop (also known as an audio induction loop) in the museum reception area.
In the park, enjoy a feast for the senses! Visit the rose garden in the summer and breathe in the scent of over 100 roses filling the air. Listen to the buzz and hum of the insects enjoying our wild cornflower meadow.
The safety of our visitors is very important to us. If you are a victim of crime please call 999. There are first aiders on site at both the museum and the Sports Hub during office hours.
There is a defibrillator located on the outside toilets next to the museum, and two located in the Sports Hub.
From Tuesday 27 June 2023 the car park next to the museum will be opened up for all visitors to use. This will allow visitors to have easier access to the museum, shop, vendors and eastern side of the park

You can pay either by using the RingGo App or by paying via credit card over the phone. If you wish to pay via the card machine you will have to park in the main car park.

The car park will be open for visitors under the same hours as the main car park. We may occasionally have to close the car park to facilitate external hire/ filming. We will inform visitors of upcoming closures as soon as we are aware via the website and signage on site. All proceeds from hires go back into the upkeep and maintenance of Gunnersbury
We are aware that pedestrians use the museum drive as well as vehicles. We have already marked out a safe route for pedestrians to use and have traffic calming measures in place including speed humps and 5mph signage.
Parking will be charged at the same rates as the main car park and Blue badge holders will continue to be able to park for free.
To reach the Museum Car Park, enter the park off Popes Lane through the large decorative gates and follow the driveway past the Museum
We have increased the number of spaces available to 19 spaces, plus two designated blue badge holder spaces.
If you wish to park at Gunnersbury for under 30 minutes you will need to register your car on the App or via the phone. You will need to do this promptly on arrival to Gunnersbury to avoid any accidental fines. If you do not register your car you will be liable for a fine.

If you plan on staying for longer than 30 minutes you will need to pay the car parking charges.

100% of net income from the car park will be spent on maintaining the park and the museum.
In May 2022 when we introduced car parking charges, we committed to a target of £80,000 from car parking fees to spend on essential park maintenance.
Following visitor feedback on the need for path repairs, particularly in the south of the park, we will be identifying and repairing £80,000 worth in 2023/24. The most up-to-date estimate to repair pathways (obtained Spring 2022) costed repairs at £180 per linear metre of pathway.
This will be phase one of a multi-phase project as we will need to secure significant levels of additional funding beyond this to complete the project.
We have partnered with Gemini Parking Solutions who specialise in car parking management. They regularly patrol the car parks and also ensure that the mechanisms for paying for parking are in working order.
The income we received from our outdoor events and venue hire in 2022 covered 33% of our running cost. It is crucial that we utilise all income streams to continue keeping the park and museum well-maintained, safe and free to access all year round.
All vehicles take up space in the car park and create wear and tear. Therefore we will not be differentiating between visitors.
All visitors can enjoy the first 30 minutes for free.
We operate the estate under a lease from Ealing and Hounslow councils. We receive a combined management fee of £655,000 a year from the councils which is on a decreasing scale, meaning we have to generate additional income from other streams to make up for this shortfall.
The car parking charges were approved by the CIC’s Board which includes representatives from Ealing and Hounslow councils.
Car parking charges apply at all times, including bank holidays.
The main car park and museum car park use an ANPR camera.
We are committed to operating as sustainably as possible and encourage visitors to use green transport options where possible.
There are several public transport stops in close proximity to the park, notably Acton Town Tube, Kew Bridge railway station and various bus stops for routes E3 and H91. We also provide bicycle racks for cyclists.
Cash machines are more susceptible to vandalism and the cost of replacing them would take away from funds that could be put back in the maintenance of the park and the museum.
The museum, shop and donations are also cashless.
We know that some visitors park on nearby streets, particularly during our events.
Prior to our events we strongly encourage visitors to use public transport and not to drive to Gunnersbury. On event days we have traffic management plans and marshalling in place which are under constant review. We work closely with the councils, the police and the event organisers to ensure a safe and well ordered environment.
All vehicles that are not authorised or not parked in accordance with the site regulations for this site will be issued with a parking charge notice
If you park at Gunnersbury and contravene the indicated parking restrictions you are agreeing to pay a parking charge to the sum of £100 discounted to £60 if paid within 14 days.
If this parking charge remains unpaid vehicle keeper details may be requested from the DVLA and you will incur additional costs as a result of action taken against you.
Please note that your car is parked at your own risk. The CIC will not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to your car or its contents.

The 50p an hour rate was an introductory rate for the first six months only. The decision to increase the charges comes as, like many charitable organisations, Gunnersbury is facing a significant increase in running costs.
The running cost for Gunnersbury Park & Museum is in excess of £2.3m this financial year 2022/23, and these costs are rising.
We receive a management fee from Ealing and Hounslow councils to run the Gunnersbury Estate which incorporates 72 hectares of parkland and a number of historical buildings including the museum, the bath house, the orangery and the temple. This management fee currently covers 27% of our costs. We further have a backlog of repairs and maintenance issues which the CIC inherited when taking over the management of the estate, which are not included in these figures.
The majority of our income comes from commercial income, including our outdoor events programme and venue hires. It is crucial that we utilise all income streams to continue keeping the park and museum well-maintained, safe and free to access all year round.
