Join the Gunnersbury team today!

Our 185 acres of Grade II* listed parkland has been awarded Green Flag and London In Bloom Gold and holds an abundance of riches with wild flower meadows, heritage parkland, ornate lakes, interactive playgrounds for families and natural habitats for a huge range of species.

Gunnersbury Park & Museum launched onto London’s cultural scene in 2018 as the destination in West London for music concerts, outdoor cinema and a host of other exciting events… but that’s not even half our story.

We could also tell you about our rich history, our local history museum winning NPO status, the 21 listed buildings and structures within our park, our brand-new sports facilities, our education and community programmes and Putt in the Park - but we’d rather show you. Watch our highlights video here.

There’s so much to be excited about at Gunnersbury and a real opportunity to help shape its future by joining our team!

Role

Gunnersbury Park & Museum offers an exciting and diverse learning programme where people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds can discover history and heritage through activities such as drama, object-handling and creative outdoor learning.

Gunnersbury Park & Museum is now seeking a Learning Assistant to join the Learning Team. It will be a part time role (4 days a week with exact days to be arranged) and will be to work term-time only within 34 weeks a year time frame but with the possibility of some additional days being offered in the school holidays. This role will primarily focus on delivering museum and park-based workshops to visiting school groups. There may also be opportunities to get involved in other aspects of our programming, delivering workshops and activities to a wider audience.

The ideal candidates will have a drama/creative arts background, good communication and timekeeping skills, and experience of delivering costumed character historical workshops in a museum, gallery or heritage environment. You will also have a strong interest in helping others engage with history and heritage through inspirational learning experiences.

This position will require a DBS check that will reveal any unspent convictions. A criminal record may not necessarily be a bar to appointment, as any decision will be treated on its merits and individual circumstances subject to the museum’s overriding obligations to protect the children and vulnerable adults in its charge, members of the public, the safety of the museum’s staff and the collection.
