As part of our exhibition, “People's Unite! How Southall Changed the Country”, join us in Southall for an evening with Hark1Karan where he will share ‘Zimmers of Southall’, his photo book that delves into the rich layers of Panjabi culture in West London and shows a new way of representing modern Britain.
The book captures the intricate layers of Southall through images of tradition, faith, caste, grassroots protest, relationships, and city life. It documents how ideas and cultures are not fixed to one place but adapt and evolve, reflecting the dynamic nature of modern British life.
There will also be vinyl and music throughout brought to you by Street Soundsystem. This event is part of the Creative Communities pop up tour with Gunnersbury Park Museum where we are committed to bringing the themes and topics of the exhibit to the heart of the community.
