Weather Information for Soho House Festival & DLT Presents: The Recipe

Soho House Festival and DLT Presents The Recipe are taking place on the 4th and 6th of July,

As discussed in our public meetings, we have been monitoring the expected weather conditions leading up to the event and we are reaching out to provide some further information, based on the latest weather update from the Met Office.

Currently the Met Office is suggesting that on the 4th of July wind speeds are not particularly excessive, although there may be some gusts up to 23mph in a Westerly direction between 4pm-7pm.

On Saturday 6th July, the Met Office is currently suggesting wind speeds up to 24mph in a Westerly direction between 1pm-4pm.

As you may be aware, last year we have contracted independent sound consultants Vanguardia who will once again be on site with double the resources. Please see their comments on the latest weather report below:

Wind direction is an important factor as it may affect the perception of sound in a particular area where those upwind of an event may experience suppression of the sound, whereas those downwind may experience an increase in sound. In this case we are expecting sound to travel less towards Ealing but further out in the Acton, Bedford Park & Chiswick area. The effect of wind close to the park will be negligible, so those on the immediate perimeter will experience broadly the same levels whatever the wind direction.

Following this advice, we have also reached out to local resident associations in the area with this information.

We will be monitoring sound levels throughout the event on site and at off-site monitoring locations pre-agreed with the council. Following on from your feedback, we have also reached out to council representatives and invited them to attend pre-event sound checks.

Residents are reminded to please contact the resident line, should they have any concerns. The resident line will remain the same number for all events:  0203 781 0001
