Update on the reconstruction project

We wanted to share some updates with you on the progress made to reconstruct the building that functioned as a café in front of the Museum, which was destroyed by fire.

Despite some setbacks, the stakeholders remain committed to rebuild the structure and aim to complete the base build by the end of summer 2024. The project team is collaborating closely with local authorities and fire and security safety experts to implement advanced security measures and fire prevention systems.

Currently, we are working with Hounslow and Ealing councils and a number of consultants to develop the next phases of work and settle on an end use for the building. We are reviewing different options that will maximise the required spaces and the use of buildings in the park. That involves exploring the existing buildings and spaces that will provide much required venues for a café facility, learning centre and holding different events that contribute our services and operations.

Our goal is to open a permanent coffee facility by 2025. We will provide more updates on the progress through our website so please watch this space.

In the meantime, we have taken measures to continue providing cafe services via mobile pop-up cafe vans. This temporary arrangement has proven to be successful and well received by park users.

We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support we have received from the community during this challenging time.

Thank you for your continued support.
