With funds taken from the profits of the summer park events we invited you to choose a project to benefit the local community.
We are delighted to announce that, with 600 votes cast, the winning project of the Community Choice 2022 is Project Three: Planting new hedgerows to bring new habitats to the park.
We invited members of the public to join us for a big planting weekend on 28/29 January, and we are delighted that the hedgerows have now been planted. Check back for more updates on how the hedgerows get on!

In 2022 we embarked on our biggest programme of events in the park. Tens of thousands of people have visited Gunnersbury: whether bringing the family for a day out with dinosaurs, to listen to award-winning music artists or enjoy immersive cinema, and we’ve loved welcoming new and familiar faces to the park.
During the summer we pledged that a percentage of the profits would be directed back to the local community, and we've honoured this pledge by allocating 5% of the forecasted year end surplus to fund the Community Choice. This initiative gives the public an opportunity to choose a project that will bring a direct benefit to the local community.
The Community Choice projects have been championed by members from the Gunnersbury Team, and there are three projects to choose from! You can vote to bring new hedgerows (and habitats) to the park, give bursaries for schools to attend our immersive education programme who would otherwise miss out or purchase multi-sensory and accessible equipment for the playground.
Find out more about the projects by watching the videos below, click here for the transcripts
Project One: Providing local schools who would otherwise miss out with bursaries to attend our school sessions
Project Two: Making Gunnersbury more inclusive with sensory learning equipment added into the playground
Project Three: Planting new hedgerows to bring new habitats to the park
We hope our community will get involved, vote for their favourite project and help spread the word about the Community Choice initiative.
