Christmas in the Victorian Kitchens
Christmas is coming and there’s lots of work to be done before the guests arrive!
Help our Victorian servant prepare for the seasonal festivities in Gunnersbury’s beautiful historic kitchens. Dress as maids and footmen, smell the festive spices, pound the sugar in the pestle and mortars, polish the silverware, stir the plum pudding and make a Christmas wish!
Through the use of drama and hands-on activities children will explore the differences between homes of the past and present, and discover how Victorian families celebrated Christmas.
This workshop is available in November and December only.
Duration: 60 minutes
Price: £125 per workshop of up to 32 children
Learning objective
To explore the differences and similarities between homes then and now, and to identify and understand the contrasts with their own homes.
