Gunnersbury Unlocked: From Private Grounds to Public Park
Come celebrate Gunnersbury Park’s 100th birthday with us!
We’re excited to kick off our centenary year with a programme of activities and exhibitions. Gunnersbury Unlocked: From Private Grounds to Public Park is the first in a series of exhibitions that explore how it’s been used and enjoyed by generations of people who lived, worked and played within its grounds.
From the days of the Rothschilds to the present, come and find out how a millionaire’s private estate became a public park; discover how Gunnersbury helped in the war effort in World War II; hear stories from employees, their families and the local community on how the park has been a place for sport, leisure, music, nature, and wellbeing for generations of the local community. This exhibition also features a very special ‘thinking tree’.
